They literally chose Go Daddy just because it makes people smile and is easy to remember. No other meaning. Then they hired a friend to create the accompanying logo, but she didn’t provide anything they liked until… One night the designer friend was playing with her daughter drawing things on the computer, and they made a fun picture which she shared with the founder of Go Daddy. This was more of a “hey this is a fun image” than an actual suggestion, but the Go Daddy group liked it so much that they adopted it as their logo.
